Today was relatively uneventful.
We played with the kids in the morning and made our way back down the Amazon. The kids were so cute, similar to those in Iquitos. It's been fun connecting with them through a language barrier that we have been able to conquer through minimal talk and lots of play.
We arrived back at our compound a little passed midday, and the rest of the day was filled with packing, showers, and rest. We went to a restaurant for dinner, had ice cream in the plaza, and now we are making final preparations for our flights to Lima and ultimately Cusco tomorrow. Machu Picchu is just around the corner!
Note: We were supposed to feed homeless kids at night, but the weather affected our original plan, and I'm disappointed we won't have that experience here. But again, God has a reason for everything. I know something great will turn up soon.
